Rats on a rampage

THE Warwick Junior Water Rats were undefeated in all games against the Saints sides from Toowoomba at Risdon oval on Saturday.

The day started well in the under six age group, with Lucy Bourke (5 tries) and Percy Kruger (4 tries) dominating the scoring.

Bourke now has 20 tries in three games for the season. Lelia Stiles also provided good support to the try scorers.

The Warwick under eight side drew their game with the Saints, with players Christopher McCosker and Connor Stiles playing well.

The under 10’s Warwick side produced the most dominant display of the day with a 12-try romp, with Patrick Wallis and Mitchell Bourke grabbing doubles.

Outside centre Tom Staunton also managed to score a clever try late in the game.

The Warwick under 12 side produced an upset by defeating the bigger Saints side.

The win was set by forward Joey O’Shanessy, who scored two tries for the Water Rats.

The Warwick Junior Rats now head into this Saturday’s home games against Dalby full of confidence after a successful round of fixtures.

Next Saturday’s junior games will be followed by a Golden Oldies game against Stanthorpe at 12 o’clock.
