Rats take the points

WARWICK made it one win from two games after a 32-15 victory against the Toowoomba Rangers at Gold Park in C-grade rugby union on Saturday.

After Dalby informed Warwick it could not play at Risdon Oval on Saturday, a game for competition points was arranged against Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

Warwick led 15-0 at half-time before Rangers scored two tries to reduce the margin to five points.

Harley Beckhouse scored to put Warwick further in front and they were not troubled for the rest of the game.

Warwick led 32-10 before Rangers scored a consolation try just before full-time.

Winger Nathan Watts and fullback Beckhouse scored two tries each. Centre Matt Wheatley and flyhalf Joel Doran scored tries and Doran landed one conversion.

Shane Currie received three points in the player of the year awards, two went to Doran and one to winger Alex Beattie.

Prop Neil McCosker said team officials were delighted with the performance.

"The forwards dominated and the backs finished it off," McCosker said.

Warwick has this weekend off and will then play premiers Goondiwindi at Goondiwindi on May 11.

Training is at 6.30pm Thursday.
