Rats versus Rats

HEADS will clash when the Warwick Water Rats face off against the Chinchilla River Rats tomorrow.

The home game is set to keep the crowd on its toes as it is the first clash for the season for the two teams.

Water Rats coach and captain Dave Young said the boys would not let a lack of numbers get them down.

"We are struggling a bit this week with boys away or with injuries but we aren't going to let it stop us," Young said.

"Chinchilla won the competition last year so to us they are probably the bench mark."

Warwick and District Rugby Union Club patron Ian 'Scotty' McLellan said having a bye for the past two weeks would not impact on the team.

"A lot of the boys have been putting in extra hours training twice a week to keep up their fitness," McLellan said.

The C-grade game kicks off at 2pm at Risdon Oval with gates open from 1pm and entry is free.

The bar and canteen will also be open for the business during the duration of the game.
