Rats women train well before grand final day

RUGBY UNION: Warwick has no injury concerns in the run up to women's sevens Downs grand final day on Saturday.

Coach Lauren Fowler said the girls were really sharp at training on Thursday night.

"Eleven of the likely starting 12 were at training,” Fowler said.

Club president Andrew Williams will head the club contingent backing the players at the grand finals at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

Warwick will play Dalby in a qualifying final at 12.45pm Saturday with the winner to play Bears in the grand final at 2.45pm.

The qualifying final will be seven minutes a half and the grand final will be 10 minutes a half.

Fowler said the players were already eyeing off participation in some summer sevens competitions.

"Carnivals include Noosa, Byron Bay and Newcastle sevens,” she said.
