Youth development officer sees future of strong leaders

WARWICK youth development officer Hailey Cosh is doing her bit to ensure the city's future has an abundance of future leaders to choose from.

She believes personal attributes are vital for a person to become an effective leader.

"There are some very strong leaders in our community," she said.

"What really sets them apart from the others is that they listen to everyone and genuinely want to make a difference to people's lives and in turn the region."

Ms Cosh works with the youth of the city to help them get back onto the straight and narrow.

She said education was a vital piece of that puzzle.

"I essentially help people who are at risk in our community to ensure they have a sustainable future," she said.

"From a youth worker's perspective, the education leaders in our community are the ones who make the most significant difference.

"They are very supportive, along with the council, in ensuring the youth of Warwick have a voice in shaping not only their future, but the region's future."
