There’s a new circus in town and it's all about science
FORGET lions and acrobatics, there's a new circus in town - and it's dedicated entirely to science.
The Shell Questacon Science Circus has rolled into town bringing with it a world of scientific wonders.
More than 40 exciting hands-on science exhibits will feature in the show at WIRAC tonight.
Whether it's spinning yourself dizzy, comparing your reflexes to a Formula 1 driver or looking at your fingertips under a microscope, there are plenty of activities for all ages.
The Science Circus presenters will wow crowds, holding fire in their hands, lying on a bed of nails and levitating beach balls.
Presenter Zach Holmes said the circus was an opportunity for the community to get hands on with science.
"It's a great way to discover new things about our world and explore the science and technology all around us," he said.
The Science Circus team will visit schools across the region this week.
Students will get to see flying rockets, freezing cold liquid nitrogen and gooey slime.
"We hope that many of the students we've visited in schools will bring their families along to the public exhibition, to explore science together and with the rest of the community," Mr Holmes said.
The public exhibition and show kicks off at 5pm tonight, with tickets available at the door.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for children and concession or $18 for a family.
Children under five are allowed in for free.
