Record crowd at dawn service

WHAT is thought to be a record crowd has turned out in Warwick for this morning’s Anzac Day Dawn Service.

Veterans have described it as one of the most moving ceremonies they have attended in years, with Assumption College student leader Karinne Law giving the address.

Mayor Ron Bellingham has estimated at least 1000 people were Leslie Park around the Cenotaph, including many children, with more spilling out on to the footpaths,

Thousands more are expected to attend further services in Warwick today, with commemorations also being held in Stanthorpe, Killarney, Allora, Emu Vale, Yangan and Tannymorel.

More coverage and photos from Anzac Day in tomorrow’s print edition of the Daily News.
