Redbacks chasing key AFL win at home

AUSSIE RULES: The return of Nick Donges and Mitch Darton will boost the Redbacks team for the clash with Highfields at Warwick Credit Union Oval on Saturday.

Warwick is equal third with Coolaroo and Goondiwindi and desperately need to beat Highfields and Chinchilla in the next fortnight in Warwick.

Both teams are below Warwick on the points table. Warwick has a bye in the second last week of the fixture season and then plays South Toowoomba at Heritage Oval in the final round.

Donges is one of the leading Warwick goalscorers and will play up front while Darton will return to the team at centre half back.

"We need to keep winning as one of the three teams on equal third will miss out on the top four.

"South Burnett is in sixth place, one win away from third, and is also still in contention for the top-four.”

As is usually the case in Aussie rules, finals spots will be determined by percentage if teams are equal on points at the end of the season so the Redbacks are desperate to win by a large margin.

The Redbacks game against Highfields will start at 2.30pm Saturday.

There is free admission to the ground in Jackie Howe Drive and seating is available.
