Redbacks first over was a key to victory

Redbacks batsman Coen Slatter scored 62 and Jamie Saunders 46 in a Redbacks score of 160 and Maryvale Condamine replied with 104 on Sunday. Slatter talks about the game.

WHAT WAS THE TURNING POINT IN THE GAME: Sam Waetford's first over in the Maryvale Condamine innings when he dismissed Pat Bourke with a catch in the slips.

WERE YOU CONFIDENT OF A WIN AFTER THAT: Fairly confident.

WHICH BATSMAN WORRIED YOU: Jason Steketee is one of the better batsmen in Warwick and was caught behind off Sam's bowling.

CAN YOU TELL SAM HAS PLAYED AT THE GOLD COAST: He brings class to the team from his grade cricket at the Gold Coast. He is very competitive.

YOU TOOK TWO WICKETS, WHAT DO YOU BOWL: I bowl a bit of medium pace.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE BATTING WITH JAMIE SAUNDERS:

I played a lot of my junior cricket with Jamie and there was good communications between us. We both have the same ideas in attack and defence.

DOES THE RUNNING BETWEEN WICKETS FROM MORE THAN A DECADE AGO STILL APPLY: You don't forget how each of us bat or run between wickets.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST SHOT:

I have liked the cut shot since junior cricket.

WAS THERE A MARYVALE FIELDSMAN YOU WERE WARY OF: Paul Bourke and Jason Steketee were the two fieldsmen who make you think again about taking the extra run.

CAN YOU WIN THE PREMIERSHIP: It is a pretty open competition. On our day, we can beat anyone.

OTHER THAN MARYVALE, WHO WILL BE HARD TO BEAT: I think Colts, Lachlan Gross is one of the best batsman in Warwick and Cameron Peterson can score well.

WHAT ABOUT ROBBO, COLTS CAPTAIN SHAUN O'LEARY AND HIS SPIN: He is a chatterbox on the field but I would like to have a go at his leg spin.

I like the ball coming onto the bat from the pace bowlers but wouldn't mind facing Robbo.

HOW MANY GAMES HAVE YOU PLAYED: I live in Toowoomba where I work as a soil tester. I have played three games and need one more to qualify for the finals. I will play this weekend.

WHAT ABOUT ANOTHER SEASON IN WARWICK: Tyhe Clarkson is one of my best mates and convinced me to play. I had a knee reconstruction from a footy injury and didn't play for two years. I may give Toowoomba club cricket a go next season but did play Cgrade for Bald Hills in Brisbane.

WHERE DOES YOUR TEAM HAVE TO IMPROVE: We were 2-125 on Sunday and all out for 160 so have to improve in the middle order.
