Redbacks smash Dalby

KURT Millard and Andrew Bardsley both starred as Darling Downs went down 18.8 (116) to 12.12 (84) to Northern Rivers in a representative AFL game at Ballina on Saturday.

The Redbacks pair was in four of the best for Darling Downs.

Toowoomba Tigers captain Chad Harper won the Bill Shaw Medal for best player for Darling Downs followed closely by Millard, Bardsley and USQ player Paul Kupke.

STEWART Day kicked eight goals as the Redbacks beat Dalby 23.20 (158) to 10.6 (66) in the AFL Darling Downs club game at Dalby on Saturday.

Kris Millard, Matty Sinkins, Gavin O'Leary, Jason Hoole, Day, Nick Donges and Vaughn Skelly were the best for the Redbacks.

Warwick is currently fourth on the ladder behind the undefeated Toowoomba Tigers, premiers Coolaroo, USQ.

Coolaroo has only lost one game this season and USQ and the Redbacks have both lost three games.

USQ went down in the game against Redbacks two weeks ago but is ahead on percentage.

In club AFL, Warwick hosts Lockyer Valley at Slade Park at 2.15pm Saturday in a game which will end the first half of the Darling Downs season.
