Redbacks make confident surge for grand final

THE Warwick Redbacks are back.

Coach Peter Millard went into the Cardinal Cup in Aussie rules at Jimboomba on Saturday with plenty of confidence and he was right.

The Redbacks played well on day 1 to qualify for the grand final today at Jimboomba.

The game will be the battle of the Redbacks, the teams from Warwick and Jimboomba.

Last season, the Redbacks finished fifth in the Darling Downs competition and were short on numbers in some games.

The team has a stronger look this season and that was proved on Saturday.

The Cardinal Cup is named after long-time Warwick Aussie rules supporter Colin Pope who is a regular at cup games.

Warwick also is confident of a strong showing this season by the women's team.
