Redbacks men heading down the valley
AUSSIE RULES: Competition leaders Warwick Redbacks will head to Gatton to play Lockyer Valley in an AFL Darling Downs men's game this afternoon.
The team had close to 20 players at training on Thursday night under coach Peter Millard.
The Redbacks men have lost only one game this season as they aim to win the division two premiership and develop a more than competitive team for next year's division one competition.
Kris Millard has moved to the top of the goalkicker tally early in the season and will be one of the trumps against Lockyer Valley.
In women's Aussie rules, the combined Lockyer Valley/Warwick team, dubbed Demonic Redbacks, will play an away game against South Burnett today.
The women from Warwick and Lockyer Valley train separately and join up at the weekend.
Last Saturday, the Demonic Redbacks went down to South Toowoomba in a game at Heritage Oval in Toowoomba.
Three of the best for the combined team last Saturday were Naomi Elliott, Karlee Manthey and Charlee Elliott.
Warwick also fields combined teams in juniors with Lockyer Valley and this Saturday's AFLDD games are at Lockyer Valley.
