Redbacks move closer to A-grade finals in first season

CRICKET: The Redbacks are odds on to make the A-grade finals after recording a 139-run victory against Railway Hotel Rascals in Condamine Cup cricket on Saturday at Allora.

Captain Tyhe Clarkson hasn't missed a game all season for the Redbacks and was again in the runs with 43 on Saturday. Coen Slatter kept his average above 60 with his lowest score of the season, 40, and Dave Drewery scored 37 to continue his fine form.

Tom Morris was the best of the Rascals bowlers with 3-55 off eight overs. James Moore and Jamie Holmes each took two wickets.

Rascals scored 62 with Sam Weatford and Jamie Saunders each taking three wickets for the winners.

Andrew Politch took three catches for Redbacks.

T20 finals will be played this weekend and then round 14 of fixtures, the last for the season, in a fortnight.
