Redbacks players busy despite bye

THE Redbacks have a bye this weekend but training sessions will go ahead as normal.

Also on the list of duties for the senior players is a firewood raffle tomorrow.

The raffle will be held in front of the town hall from 8.30am until midday.

KR Timbers has donated the wood, so thanks go to Kent Rippingale for his generosity.

On completion of the raffle, it is hoped the senior players will travel to Gold Park to view the Coolaroo v Highfields game, as the Highfields Lions are their next opponents.

Also being played at Coolaroo’s home ground will be the Redbacks U16s in the curtain-raiser to the main game.

Back at Slade Park, from 8.30am will be the Redbacks U8s and U10s playing Pittsworth.

This is where our girls and boys get a start in the game and, for their protection, modified rules with no tackling are enforced.

Following the youngest in the club will be the Reddies U14s playing at 9.30am, this game will also be played against Pittsworth.

The U12s will be last cab off the rank this weekend and will play a scratch match against Pittsworth, which is unable to field a minimum requirement squad.

The change in times for the two older age groups will allow a number of the U14 players time to get to Toowoomba for the U16 game.
