Redbacks record an easy win in game at WCU Oval

AUSSIE RULES: The Warwick Redbacks beat Lockyer Valley Demons 16.9. (106) to 6.10. (46) in Saturday’s men’s game at Warwick Credit Union Oval.

Warwick coach Peter Millard rated Tony Chandler as his best on ground, but praised many others also.

“I moved Shannon Cameron from fullback to the centre of the ground and he had a fantastic game,” Millard said.

“Tyhe Clarkson was strong as an on baller. Overall it was a great team effort,” he said.

“It was good to have a couple of new players who went well at the weekend.”

Kris Millard landed five goals to lead the way for Warwick, and Cameron Peterson was strong in the attacking zone.

In the ladies, Coolaroo/ Warwick went down to a combined visiting team in the late game which finished under lights.

Junior games were played as a forerunner to the two senior games.

The men’s win is the second of the season for the Warwick Redbacks.

Warwick will play Toowoomba Tigers at Rockville on Saturday afternoon.

More players are welcome for men and women’s teams at training each Tuesday and Thursday at 5.30pm.
