Reddies not disgraced

THE Warwick Credit Union Redbacks did not play a bad game of football against the might of South Toowoomba.

The scoreboard told a somewhat different story. The final score was Bombers 11.13.(79) defeated the Redbacks 4.10.(34).

It was not possible to find a bad player for the WCU Redbacks, but they could not stand up to the talented, disciplined and relentless attacking game of South Toowoomba.

The running game of the Bombers constantly found the Reddies out of position and forced them to work a lot harder on their game to score goals.

The defence of the Reddies was tested all day and they did well to hold Souths to 11 goals from a staggering amount of entries into their forward 50.

Alex Cutmore played well in the ruck for his 50th game and was ably supported by Dennis Ganly, Tony Chandler, Brendan Iles, Matthew Sinkins and Andrew Bardsley who all played hard-fought football, and Shannon Cameron and Bryce Bodsworth who refused to give up the chase at any stage.

The upside of the day was the performance of the junior grades. The Reddies won all junior games over Souths.

Souths have all of their junior teams in the four and the U12s and U16s had never beaten a Souths team before.

Well done to all of the players, coaches and support staff involved. You can be truly proud of all of your efforts and dedication to keeping the juniors on the field.
