Regency Park appeals to couple
AFTER months of canvassing the internet to find their perfect home, the Allan's, from Lismore, couldn't go past Regency Park Retirement Village.
Brian and Jill only have about a month to wait until they relocate to the Sunshine State and came to visit at the open day Saturday to experience some Rose City luxury.
“I spent ages on the internet, looking through New South Wales and Queensland, and this was the best place and the best deal,” Mr Allan said.
“We don't know anyone here at all yet.”
The couple are looking forward to taking in the morning sun on their back veranda and relaxing by the park's premium pool.
Regency Park is steaming ahead, as stage-seven building works continue and earthworks go along smoothly for stage eight.
Co-developer Marcus Barlow said he was happily surprised with the number of people who turned out for the open day considering the dreadful weather conditions.
“It's been wonderful – the amount of people ... they even started coming really early,” Mr Barlow said.
Mr Barlow said planning is in the advanced stages for the main community centre and preliminary planning is under way for the age care section of the project.
Out of the houses under construction in stage seven on the western boundary of the park, five houses have been sold, and all the finished houses across the park are sold.
“So far this year we have opened the Oasis pool and spa area and also the caravan and boat storage area,” Mr Barlow said.
“Looking forward, we intend to start increasing our construction rate and to start construction of the main community centre next year.”
Mr Barlow said, with weather permitting, stage seven will be completed by January and stage eight, which comes down the hill on the southern side, will be complete later in 2011.
- Stage seven is projected to be completed by January.
- State eight is already under way.
- Building on the main community centre will start next year.
