Region weathers storm
SKIES over the Rose City turned an eerie shade of black on Saturday afternoon and the looming storm had residents ducking for cover.
Intermittent flashes of lightning illuminated the sky and strong winds and loud claps of thunder completed the perfect storm.
About 48.6mm of rain was dumped across the region between Friday and Sunday, with Saturday the wettest day of the month so far.
Despite being just over halfway through October, Warwick is just 1mm away from reaching its average rainfall of 77.2mm.
The threat of further rain is set to ease over the next few days but there is still the chance of a few showers today and tomorrow.
For those hoping to get the summer shorts out of the cupboard after yesterday's warm weather - you may need to hold off a little longer.
Temperatures are expected to drop to minimums of only six degrees this week and are not expected to go much over the 20 degree mark before the weekend.
