Regional produce to shine at Jumpers and Jazz
SOUTHERN Downs Regional Council is joining forces with our Scenic Rim neighbours to showcase the finest regional produce at Jumpers and Jazz tomorrow.
The two councils have partnered with 17 local producers for the Regional Harvest stand in Palmerin St.
Southern Downs Mayor Cr Peter Blundell said the Regional Harvest concept was developed for the 2014 Ekka, with the purpose of showcasing local produce to Jumpers and Jazz visitors.
"Promoting our region and its local food and agricultural produce is important to the council," he said.
"There will be about 17 local producers at the Regional Harvest stand showcasing a range of products including organic eggs, beef, potatoes, honey and more.
"The council will provide a host of information about our region, and council staff will be onsite to talk to residents and visitors about what is happening in the region," Cr Blundell said.
