Reject Shop toy recall

CONSUMERS are urged to check if they may have purchased a potentially dangerous children’s toy imported and sold through The Reject Shop stores nationally.

New South Wales Fair Trading this week discovered the toy, the Music Zone Mr Squirrel 8 Scale Happy Xylophone has a number of small parts that could be dangerous to small children if they became detached.

Independent testing by Test Research, an accredited test laboratory, confirmed that the toy failed the mandatory test requirements of the Australian Standard for toys.

“The Reject Shop has set up a National Toll Free number 1800 633 886 for consumers to call with any questions or concerns.

More than 7000 units of the toy were sold nationally between November 2010 and May 2011.

Details of the recall will also be registered on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s recall website.
