Remembering Damian Leeding

THE Queensland Police Service will hold two memorial events this week for a Gold Coast detective killed in the line of duty last year.

Detective Senior Constable Damian Leeding died on June 1, 2011, after he was shot during an armed robbery at the Pacific Pines Tavern in Coomera.

The DSC Damian Leeding Charity Golf Day will be held at Palm Meadows Golf Resort on Tuesday with all money raised donated to Police Legacy.

A memorial service will be held for police colleagues at the Damian Leeding Memorial Park in Oxenford on Friday.

Members of the public wishing to pay tribute are asked to wear a blue ribbon on Friday or to donate to Police Legacy.
Det Snr Cst Leeding was survived by his wife and two children.
