SPRING has sprung early this year and snakes are already on the move, snake catcher Lyn Gynther says.

"I have already had four calls regarding snake sightings and have been called out to relocate two pythons," Mrs Gynther said.

Mrs Gynther said residents need to ensure their yard is kept tidy and there is nowhere for snakes to hide.

"If you do come up against a snake don't panic," she said.

"Stand still and then back away slowly."

Mrs Gynther said if the snake is in the house to try and contain it in one room.

If you spot a snake phone Mrs Gynther on 4664 8476.

If you are bitten by a snake phone 000 and apply a pressure immobilisation bandage as soon as possible.
