Goondiwindi lights up for first colour run

GOONDIWINDI residents, get ready to be showered in bright coloured paint in the town's first colour run.

The Gundy Gallop Colour Fun Run will be held at the Town Park on Saturday, October 17 from 4pm.

The 5km run is a fundraising event being held by Care Goondiwindi and the PCYC.

Participants will run or walk around a 5km course that includes several stations where they are blasted with coloured non-toxic paint and at fun colour stations.

PCYC branch manager Jason Watts said there was a lot of interest in the event.

"It is the first one of its kind in town so we are hoping for a good turn out," he said.

"Now that we have everything in place we are planning on making this an annual event."

There will be prizes for the best dressed so make sure you wear white old clothes or even dress up in something colourful and crazy.

There will be a barbeque, bands, jumping castle, stalls and raffles.

Everyone is encouraged to meet at the finish for cold drinks, hot food, live music and the Super Colour Throw.

Entry forms can be collected from the PCYC, Care Goondiwindi or can be downloaded from caregoondiwindi.org.au.
