Warm temps return

A RETURN to warmer conditions is expected today until Friday, although forecasters warn there could be chance of light rain on Thursday.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Geoff Doueal said the warm start was a result of the northerly winds above the Warwick district today.

“This will result in temperatures above average by two or three degrees,” Mr Doueal said.

“During (tomorrow), a south-west change forms in the west of Warwick ...we expect it to pass through Warwick on Thursday.

“That should result in temperatures returning closer to average... with that change we are expecting patchy light rain, but we are not really expecting more than one or 2mm rain in that rain band.”

He said the nights would be warmer because of the warm days.

“The night-time temperatures will be about eight degrees above average. Friday morning, we will back to average or below average temperature,” he said.

“There will be a marked difference between temperatures on Thursday and Friday - it will be back to frosty mornings on Friday.

“It's typical to get this type of weather (at this time of the year).”
