REVEALED: What sacking means for Antoniolli's legal fight

UPDATE: Andrew Antoniolli will continue to have his legal fees covered even after councillors are dismissed by the State Government.

"Legal costs for Cr Antoniolli are covered under the insurance policy," a council spokesman said.

"It is a matter for council's insurer to pursue for recovery of the legal costs in the event Councillor Antoniolli is convicted."

Cr Antoniolli has had legal representation covered by the council since being charged with seven counts of fraud in May.

He denies wrongdoing.

If State Government legislation is passed next month Cr Antoniolli will no longer be an employee of the council.

Note: An earlier version of this story said his legal coverage would cease. This was incorrect.
