Rider choppered out
RACQ Careflight flew to Warwick Hospital late yesterday afternoon to airlift a 17 year old girl had fallen off a horse at the Rose Bowl Polocrosse event around 4pm.
Air crewman Matt O’Rourke was told that the horse she had been riding stumbled and the rider fell sideways and hit her head heavily.
It is unclear where the rider is from, with some suggestions she is a Warwick girl but other reports are of her being from Nanango.
Mr O’Rourke said the patient had suffered an internal head injury and had been flown to the PA Hospital in Brisbane where she remains in a critical condition.
A premature baby was also flown to Brisbane late yesterday from Warwick Hospital in a separate emergency mission.
