Riders have fun at Morgan Park

AFTER a successful race meeting at Morgan Park on Sunday, the Warwick District Dirt Bike Club is hosting a club meeting on March 28.

Club secretary Rodney Fitzgerald said the club attracted 60 bikes from as far away as the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

“The course was in excellent condition after the recent rain,” Fitzgerald said.

“Overall, Warwick riders went extremely well.”

As always, the Warwick club has a practice from 3pm each Thursday and from 10am each Sunday unless there is a club meeting scheduled.

Up to 20 riders do their laps each Thursday and between 40 and 90 on a Sunday.

Fitzgerald said the club had 74 members.

“Counting family memberships, the total number of people involved is approximately 150,” he said.

“We have had some Victorian riders at practice days this year.”

The club plans to organise a two-day race meeting later in the year.

Many of the Warwick members compete in motocross series in south-east Queensland and travel as far as Mackay and Roma.

Prospective members can call the club on 0428 711 141.
