Riders saddle up for Pony Club

THERE is nothing like being exact and Cunningham Pony club secretary Ellen Cooper was as exact as one could expect when she tipped a field of 80 for the annual club gymkhana.

Yesterday, the club attracted 79 riders from as far as Yarrill Creek club west of Goondiwindi.

There were riders from Goondiwindi, Inglewood, Cabarlah, Allora, Warwick, Killarney, Stanthorpe, Cambooya and the host club Cunningham.

Cooper said 12 riders from Cunningham competed.

"We almost doubled our gymkhana numbers from last year when we only had 43 riders," she said.

Special guest, Warwick Rodeo Queen Erica Geppert judged the stockman's challenge.

She was assisted in the role by her father, Polocrosse Association of Australia president Rod Geppert.
