Riders test out Morgan Park track

MORGAN Park Raceway showcased round three of the Southern Downs Motorcycle Sportsmen Championships at the weekend.

For the first time road riders were able to take part in the meeting, seeing firsthand what a lap of the Morgan Park circuit entails.

Assistant clerk for the meeting, Sarah Carlsen, said it was a premier round.

"We've got a lot of new entries," she said.

"There are over 90 people competing.

"We've added a rookie class for this weekend also so younger riders can come out and have a go."

The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland is a Motorcycling Australia affiliated road racing and supermotard club based in Brisbane, Australia.

The club has been in existence since 1958 and has a long history of promoting motorcycle racing.

Many champions, both national and international have been members at some time or another.
