A FIRE has broken out on the side of the Condamine River just west of John Dee.

Firefighters believe the fire may have been started by fishermen who had already left the bank.

Two fire crews were called out to the blaze.

It has since been put out, however it serves as a timely reminder of how fast fires can burn in this hot, dry weather.
