Road now open after serious truck crash
UPDATE 6.25pm: Freestone Rd has now been reopened after two trucks collided near Palmer Bridge this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 3.37pm.
The road was closed while crews worked to free a man who was trapped inside one of the trucks.
He has been airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital with significant injuries.
INITIAL 5pm: Freestone Rd near Palmer Bridge has been closed to traffic after two trucks collided on the road this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 3.40pm where one man was trapped inside his truck.
The road is expected to remain shut for about two hours.
Fire crews are currently working to free the man who has suffered serious injuries.
A helicopter has also landed at the scene to transport the man once he has been freed.
