Road rage incident leaves man with serious facial injuries

A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a minor traffic crash in Mooloolaba escalated into serious assault.

The 34-year-old Kuluin man, who is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning, has also been charged with enter with intent and wilful damage.

It will be alleged that around 4.40pm Tuesday, a minor traffic crash occurred at the corner of Tarcoola Ave and Brisbane Rd.

Two men exited one of the vehicles and approached the driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle.

The driver, a 45-year-old Regent's Park man, was punched several times in the head and face.

He was transported to Nambour General Hospital with serious facial injuries.

Police investigations are continuing.
