Roads set for facelift in 2015
WITH the hundreds of projects Transport and Main Roads have planned for the Darling Downs over the next few years, very few fall within the Southern Downs region.
The only thing listed in a planning report for 2015 is continued research for safety upgrades at the Eight Mile intersection.
In 2016-2017 there's over $5 million to be spent on roads surrounding the region.
This includes works on the Cunningham Highway between Warwick and Ipswich to provide heavy vehicle parking and install and upgrade road delineation.
More money will be spent on the Eight Mile intersection and there will be further upgrades to the New England Highway between Warwick and Wallangarra.
Between 2017-2018 Eukey Rd in Stanthorpe will be upgraded along with Amiens Rd and Inverramsay Rd at Goomburra.
$1.1 million will also be spent constructing a bridge across the Condamine River on Lyndhurst Lane.
