Rodeo has the Rose City buzzing
IT IS less than a week until the 2015 Warwick Rodeo action gets under way and there is already a buzz in the atmosphere.
Last weekend was all about crowning our rodeo royalty and it's great to see the region's younger kids getting involved in this great event.
Both the Daily News and the Bush Telegraph have great yarns today on local youngsters pulling on their Ariats, getting behind this year's rodeo and joining the quest.
This is undoubtedly a great confidence booster for the children, who are making both memories and friends to last a lifetime.
This weekend visitors will start rolling into the Rose City and anticipation is building.
Not only is it Australia's Most Famous Rodeo but the Warwick event is one that our whole community gets involved in.
I am looking forward to seeing the authentic-looking outfits at the school dress-up days and families filling the streets for the ever-popular mardi gras and street parade.
The rodeo queens will be stepping out into the community and their visits are always received with appreciation and wonder by our primary schools, nursing homes and other organisations.
And of course, you can't beat the adrenaline-pumping ride that is sitting ringside to watch the thrilling events in the arena - Dagwood Dog in hand, of course.
Get ready for a great week in Warwick - it's going to be a big one.
