Rodeo rains won’t put a dampener on busy weekend in Warwick
IT WOULDN'T be the Warwick Rodeo without the threat of storms and showers on the horizon.
A heavy shower had crowds ducking for cover at the showgrounds yesterday afternoon.
While the downpour was only short lived, the Bureau is warning rodeo fans not to pack away their umbrellas too soon.
Forecaster Adam Blazak said the forecast was only a 20% chance of showers, with the weekend most likely to be fine and sunny.
"Both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, more likely Saturday there's a chance of a shower or storm," he said.
"Any rain would move over the region quickly - I wouldn't worry about it too much."
Long-term modelling is showing the chance of more than 50mm of rain for the region late next week.
