Rogers and Robson share 259 run partnership
VETERAN Chris Rogers enhanced his case for a place in the Australian batting line-up for the Ashes campaign.
He and his Middlesex County Cricket Club opening partner Sam Robson broke a 106-year-old record against Surrey.
Rogers (131 not out) and former Australian under-19 representative Robson (129) shared a partnership of 259 at Lord's - the highest first-wicket stand in matches between the cross-London rivals.
The pair beat the previous best partnership of 232, set by Pelham Warner and James Douglas at The Oval in 1907.
