Readers say there's plenty of room for kids at the shops

Daily News readers have reacted angrily to a letter suggesting shopping centres should ban kids for an hour or two a day

It's easy to make this comment hidden by anonymity.

Children 'misbehaving' in supermarkets is rarely what it seems at face value.

Sensory overload created by supermarkets driven by greed.

Sick or tired kids but a mum who needs to fill a pantry.

Lack of community support to help families under the pump to maintain two incomes and then squeeze in shopping after work when kids are tired.

How about this person step up and offer to help families with small kids, rather than this horrifically selfish attitude of just making their life more comfortable?

- Rachel Leslie

I think that is ridiculous, other people shouldn't have to put up with screaming kids etc.

Maybe that child is just having a bad day? Maybe the child is autistic etc and has a reason to be throwing that tantrum?

Children should not be excluded from shopping centres because one person doesn't like kids that are basically just being kids, any parent has been there and done that tantrum thing at some point and no child is perfect.

I can understand the exclusion on planes it's a confined space, but seriously a shopping centre... seems over the top.

How about having this short child care facility in the shopping centre?

- Analiza ConjeBronger

Parents control your screaming kids.

There all done.

- Hln Fitch

I'm all for this too many kids are allowed to do what they want these days.

I go to shopping centres to shop not to listen to uncontrollable kids for hours on end!!

- Jeanette Ruth Dobson

That's the most ridiculous idea for goodness sake!

Kids are part of everyday life and we should embrace that fact.

Have some compassion for the tired parents dealing with tired kids when they both don't want to be at the shopping centre!

- Kathy Smith-Kieseker

Omg I have heard it all now.

So what happens when Santa comes to shopping centres?

- Diana Giles

It would be awesome!

But we live in the real world and we have to take our children out so people are just going to have to get over it.

We do our best to calm our children if they're loosing it but other people don't know the circumstances behind what they're seeing.

Kids are part of society; society should just deal with it!

- Sarah Crook

We were all loud, mischievous kids once!!!

The ones who are whinging about it were probably the worst!

- Helena Moore

Kids are part of life! Deal with it whingers!

You were kids once upon a time! No fairy tale!

- Lesley Carrie

The most ridiculous idea ever!!!!!!
