Rosari bred horse a starter in Magic Millions on Saturday

RACING: Gerard and Jan Nolan from Gladfield have one win from one start for Rosari Farm-bred horses in the Magic Millions two-year-old race at the Gold Coast and have their second starter, Colosimo, tomorrow.

They sold Mirror Mirror for $120,000 at the Magic Millions Sale in 2005 to Strawberry Hill Stud and the horse won the two-year-old classic the next year.

Last year, they sold Colosimo for $55,000 to Aquis Farm and the filly has already won $49,300 prize money. In three starts, Colosimo has wins at Gold Coast and Eagle Farm.

"We only sell six or eight yearlings a year and it is an achievement to get a horse in the Magic Millions two-year-old race,” Gerard said.

Gerard and Jan and family members will be at the races tomorrow to watch a horse they bred race during the richest race meeting in the land.

Yesterday, they sold a colt for $240,000 on day 2 of the Magic Millions Sales. The colt from Rosari, which made $240,000 was by Not A Single Doubt out of New Zealand bred mare Quack It.

The successful buyer was Mark Newnham Racing.

After selling a half-sister of Capitalist for $300,000 on Wednesday, Daandine Stud at Goomburra sold a colt yesterday for $120,000. The colt was by I Am Invincible out of the mare Quality Impulse and sold to Stanley Chin Racing.
