Rose City boxer prepares for his first Australian championships

BOXING: Rose City Boxing Club member Jacko McMahon has one more day of school before heading to the Australian championships.

The Assumption College student heads into camp on Tuesday at Runaway Bay in preparation for the championships which start Thursday at Paradise Point.

He has been boxing with the Rose City club for three years and has a 10-8 win/loss record.

McMahon is the current Queensland champion in the junior 75kg division and is unbeaten this year.

The last trip away for the Rose City club was last weekend to the South East Queensland championships at Beenleigh when the Warwick-based club had three boxers who each went down on points.

The next tournament for Rose City boxers will be on June 4 at Beaudesert.
