Rose City garden comp calls

WITH 18 different classes and free entry, there's never been a better reason for Rose City residents to show off their green thumbs and enter the Warwick Horticultural Society's Spring Garden Competition.

The competition, which covers everything from large-acreage gardens to business and school gardens, is one of the biggest events in the Southern Downs gardening calendar.

Warwick Horticultural Society secretary Margot Cory said she was expecting more than 20 gardens would be entered in the competition. "The entries have been coming in nicely to Brysons," she said.

"Judging will be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with presentations at the Spring Flower Show on October 16."

Entries close at 5pm tomorrow, by popping into Brysons or phoning Margot Cory on 4661 1414.
