Rothbury rider wins Warwick Cowboys bull ride
THE man who drew the best bull won the big money at the Ray Bunch Machinery Warwick Cowboys Rodeo at Father Ranger Oval.
Rothbury (NSW) rider Jason O'Hearn scored 90 on the Robert Bunn bull Heather's Little Spinner to win $1500 and the inaugural Adam Merrell Memorial Buckle.
Queensland rider Fraser Babbington was second and former Emu Vale cowboy Lachlan Slade third.
The night featured an outstanding bull riding exhibition with approximately half the riders making time.
Rarely would a score of 90 result in a rider not winning an event and 90 was enough for O'Hearn to win.
Darryl Joe Kong and Wayne Hart were the judges at the rodeo.
Cameron Lang won the bullock ride and Warwick Cowboys reserve-grade lock and TRL top points scorer Mitch McMahon was first in the mule ride. Brandon Long came first in the poddy ride.
Rodeo action in the Warwick Rodeo starts Thursday week and there is a PBR Rodeo at Collegians in early December.
