Rummy mummy fined
A MOTHER who was so intoxicated she thought family members were trying to kidnap her children has pleaded guilty to high-range drink driving.
Sharan Marie Lincoln appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court this week, where it was heard she consumed a bottle of rum at a friend's home on the evening of December 12.
Witnesses told police the 41-year-old then tried to put her children in the car to leave.
Family members intervened, placed the children in the car of a sober driver and began driving them to their grandparents' house.
The court heard Lincoln didn't recognise the vehicle in her drunken state and followed the vehicle, colliding with it on the driveway of the property.
She yesterday told the court she believed her children were being kidnapped.
Police attended the property about three hours after the collision and found a "semi-conscious" Lincoln on a couch.
A blood sample returned a reading of 0.172.
The court heard Lincoln had no previous history.
She was fined $900 and disqualified from driving for eight months.
