Safety first at hazard prevention supply store

FOUR months in, Joe Sciuto is stoked with the response he has had with his Total Fire Protection Service shop, on Hamilton St.

Mr Sciuto opened the shop in October last year and told the Daily News he had a mission - "make it a one-stop shop for all safety gear".

"It's been great, we've picked up some big companies who are really pleased with the stock we've got in," Mr Sciuto said.

When he first opened he said people were instantly rushing through the doors.

"When we first opened, people were taking things from the boxes - we hadn't even had a chance to unpack yet," Mr Sciuto said.

"So that made us feel a bit big and tall."

With a broad range of clothing, safety gear, boots, signage and all the bells and whistles, Mr Sciuto said he was able to do neat deals for local shoppers.

Word of mouth has even got out-of-towners heading to the Rose City to do all of their safety gear shopping, which is good news for the local Warwick economy.

"We've even had some of the mining guys from Dalby and Roma coming in getting their boots," he said.

The shop, on the corner of Grafton and Hamilton Sts, is open Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm and Saturdays 8.30am-1pm.
