Sam and Shane are the Warwick golf A-grade champions

GOLF: Sam Hinze and Shane McKenzie are the champions of Warwick golf after the fourth and final round of the championships yesterday.

Hinze has won the ladies title many times but the win in the men’s was the first for McKenzie.

McKenzie won by nine shots from Neil Glen, with captain Tim Sutton a further shot away third.

Michelle Wright and Chris Hynes won B grade, with Marge Burley and Tom Smith the C-grade champions.

Rhys Farrell won the best nett for the 72 holes in A grade, with Josh Hynes best in B grade and Gunter Nicklich best in C grade.

Warwick men’s captain Tim Sutton said the victories by four juniors, the Hynes brothers, Smith and Farrell, were great for the club.

Marg Adcock and Charlie Morrison won veteran’s titles. Declan Murphy was best junior overall.

Melanie McLennan won the Carol Russell Memorial Trophy for best 72-hole nett in the ladies.
