Santa Paws a popular event

PARENTS normally spend a decent amount of time, once a year, dressing their children in colour co-ordinated clothes, tying ribbons into their little girl's hair and or tucking their son's shirts into their best pair of pants - the cause being the annual Christmas photo with Santa.

At the weekend, pet owners went through all the same preparation; dressing their beloved animals with ribbons and Christmas themed coats.

The cause was the Warwick Animal Welfare group's annual Santa Paws event.

A photo shoot where pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome.

Warwick Animal Welfare group's Jenny Alker said the event had become quite popular.

"Santa, how do you feel about rats?," Jenny asked the jolly man as the next customer walked in.

Operating out of a shop on Grafton St, the group put on a sausage sizzle, fairy floss and of course the photos.

"It is $10 a photo," Mrs Alker said.

"The money from the fundraiser is used to help us re-home and care for lost animals."
