THE arrival of Santa is always a festive highlight at Rose City Shoppingworld, with previous entrances involving reindeer and even a scissor lift.

This year the big man will be making his way into the centre in style, in a white Corvette.

Santa will make his big debut this Saturday, starting at the Grafton St entrance before driving through the centre.

He will be boasting a long procession, including the Salvation Army Band and Christmas Down Under, a group comprising volunteers from Warwick's Christian Churches.

Rose City Shoppingworld marketing manager Louise de Lissa said the parade may be slightly delayed due to the Queen's Baton Relay trial run, but everything would go ahead.

"It's about incorporating the feeling (of Christmas) into the store and the retailers get a sense of what's happening,” Mrs de Lissa said.

Once Santa has arrived at his post, photos will be available from 12-2pm and a free gift will be given to every child who pays him a visit.

Santa will be at the centre every day until Christmas Eve from 10am, and 11am on Sundays.
