Schoolie gets the boot from hotel after high-rise gamble

THE drunk schoolies reveller photographed lying on the edge of a Gold Coast high-rise will be evicted from the hotel today.

The photograph of 18-year-old Cameron Cox, taking a rest on the 11th floor ledge of the Hawaiian Holiday Apartments at Surfers Paradise, was posted online yesterday and sparked renewed warnings about how a moment of madness could kill.

The prank has brought an end to his Schoolies Week celebrations, with Hawaiian Holiday Apartments telling Fairfax Media the teenager would be evicted today.

The 18-year-old graduate from the Gold Coast's Somerset College, who according to his Facebook page is originally from Bankstown in New South Wales, told News Ltd he was drunk at the time and climbed out a window for the thrill and to get some fresh air.

''I didn't think it would get this much attention. My dad might be a bit angry when he finds out, but we'll see,'' he said.
