School's out, party is started
SCHOOL may be out at 3pm but West School will the place to be this evening.
The annual Spring Spectacular Fete returns in all its fun-filled glory.
P&C President Kerri Walters said the event continued to be one of the community's most popular.
"Effectively our Spring Spectacular is akin to the Warwick Show,” she said.
"It's big, with attractions such as a fun fair with six rides, class stalls including show bags, hot food, games, lucky dips, fairy floss and a great entertainment program with bands, a lip syncing competition, and a talent quest.”
Principal Jason Callcott said the fete was a day children could unplug from technology and enjoy some traditional fun.
"With rides, food and entertainment, this is a day the kids look forward to all year and it also provides an important boost to the P&C's ongoing program of enhancements to the school's facilities,” Mr Callcott said.
This year's amusement rides include the Scrambler, Mega Chairs, Train ride, Rockwall, slide and Cup and Saucer. Armbands allowing unlimited rides can be bought for $40 today.
Individual rides are $6.
Festivities get under way at 2.30pm today and wrap up about 8.30pm.
