Scots cricketers in action at The Armidale School
SCOTS PGC player Jared Fearby took 4-18 against Shore School from Sydney on day one of a Schoolboys Festival Carnival at The Armidale School (TAS).
Fearby hails from Texas and is the son of former star Warwick player Geoff Fearby, who famously once took 10 wickets in an innings in junior cricket.
He was playing for The Scots PGC College team, which made its debut in the carnival under the direction of co-curricular co-ordinator Damien Cahill and Firsts coach Michael Bourke.
Shore batted first and scored 7-153 in a 25-over-a-side game and Scots PGC replied with 38. Will Dearden top scored with 10.
In their second game on day one, Scots PGC went down to TAS. Batting first, TAS scored 197 with Will Malone taking a classic catch at first slip for the Warwick-based team.
Pat Bourke took 3-24 off four overs. Scots PGC made 3-138 with Pat Bourke hitting 67 not out, Dearden 34 and Tom Bourke 22.
Yesterday morning, Scots PGC had the bye and still has games to go against Riverview and Downlands.
A Scots PGC Past Students team will play in this weekend's Warwick carnival.
