Scott Ellis was a top flight sportsman at all levels

SCOTT Ellis will be remembered as a good bloke and a top sportsman when hundreds gather for his funeral service on Saturday at St Mary's in Warwick.
I remember him going through the age groups in sport, especially rugby league and cricket.
He represented the division in rugby league from under 13 to senior level before joining Norths in Brisbane where he played FOGS and Queensland Cup footy.
Scott was part of the Warwick Cowboys under-18 premiership winning team in 2005 under coach George McVeigh.
He mainly played centre and wing but was one of those players just as effective in the back row.
An attacking batsman and pace bowler, Scott won premierships with Wheatvale in A-grade cricket after making many Darling Downs and South West teams as a junior.
Scott always had a nickname.
He was dubbed Lester at the Norths Devils in rugby league in Brisbane after a world champion boxer of the era.
In cricket, he was sometimes called Watto due to his resemblance to Australian all-rounder Shane Watson.
On one overseas trip with his partner Caitlin, Scott was approached by three cricket fans from India for an autograph as they believed he was Watson.
To his closest mates and the Warwick community, he was Pincher.
Away from sport, he was a hard worker and loved his time with family and friends. He fitted a lot into 30 years and will long be remembered.
I know this community will walk with Caitlin, his parents Ross and Judy, and siblings Michael and Katrina, extended family and friends at this difficult time.
